Georgia
Regional Hospital at Savannah encourages volunteers from the
community to supplement and compliment the programs at the
hospital. Volunteering
can be a rewarding experience to both the volunteer and the
hospital. Volunteers
provide a valuable service to the clients and maintain an
important link with the community.
Volunteer
opportunities include:
- INDIVIDUAL
VOLUNTEERS
are needed to work on a one-to-one basis with clients at
the hospital and to help conduct classes in such areas
as arts and crafts and grooming.
These volunteers go through a training program.
Hours are flexible.
- GROUP
VOLUNTEERS
are members of civic, fraternal, school or church
organizations who work as a group with the clients at
the hospital. Group volunteer’s work on regular
projects such as pet therapy or weekly/monthly visits to
a particular unit. Other group volunteers provide parties and other
activities for special occasions such as Christmas and
Halloween.
- OCCASIONAL
VOLUNTEERS
are those that are called on by the hospital for special
projects and those that make donations to the hospital.
The hospital is always in need of clothing and shoes,
books, magazines and party refreshments.
